House Brain was part of De Hoop op Constantia.  Parts of the house date to the 18th Century.  It was originally an outbuilding, but underwent several alterations over the years.  The restoration project encompassed a complete re-organisation of the internal spaces, additional accommodation and new services and finishes throughout.  All the doors and windows have been replaced.  Although the swimming pool and tennis court were existing, all the outside areas have been remodelled.
