Morgenhof Wine Estate is owned by Ann Cointreau. Two firms of Architects were initially approached to present design proposals for the new tasting facility and underground maturation cellar. Michael Dall Architects was appointed to execute this brief and integrate the existing wine making facilities.

Although the farm has many historical Cape buildings, Ann Cointreau, being French, wanted the new buildings to have a French influence, whilst the existing buildings’ Cape Vernacular Aesthetic was retained.

The existing winery (built by the previous owners) was an industrial building. The building was given a new facade abutting the formal garden built above the 1600m2 maturation cellar. The tasting facility and tower also flank the garden.

Michael Dall Architects has also designed and built a restaurant and offices within the same precinct.
